President Donald Trump issued a congratulatory tweet aimed toward U.S. service people Saturday morning.
His tweet thanked the country’s military for “representing the United States and the world, so well in the Syria attack.”
Early Friday morning, U.S. warships in the Mediterranean Sea launched 60 Tomahawk missiles at the Shayrat air base in Syria which left seven people dead and nine injured.

The missiles were launched in response to a deadly chemical attack, which officials said used chlorine mixed with a nerve agent, possibly sarin.

The chemical attack by Syrian forces on the northern town of Khan Sheikhoun killed 87 people, including 31 children.
