Ontario Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner made a stop in London today as part of his southwestern Ontario tour.
Appearing on the Craig Needles Show, Schreiner spoke about health care, the electability of Greens and hydro.
He raised concerns about the Liberal’s plan to further reduce hydro bills by 17 per cent, which would lead to spreading out the paying of Hydro One’s debts over a longer timeframe.
He says the Liberals should be looking into trading energy with Hydro Quebec and more focus should be put into wind energy.
In addition to decisions on energy, Schreiner says more work needs to be done to fix health-care spending.
The province’s Green Party leader visited Fanshawe College, the Organic Grocers Co-Op on Dundas Street and attended a meet and greet with community members at McCabe’s Pub on Monday.
“We’re on a mission to bring honesty, integrity and policies that work for people,” Schreiner said. “Make that our priority to put it ahead of our own politically partisan self-interest. I think people are looking for that.”
Schreiner is continuing his tour in Sarnia.
