On April 8 and 9, host Ron MacLean will bring the final stop of the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour to Pier 8.

“I can’t think of a better place for the final stop of the tour,” says Hamilton Mayor Fred Eisenberger. “With Hamilton’s rich hockey heritage reaching back to the 1920s with our Hamilton Tigers, the opening of the first Tim Hortons in 1964 right here in Hamilton, and celebrating our future hockey stars and beloved Hamilton Bulldogs. I am proud to share Hamilton’s love affair with hockey with the nation.”

The event celebrates all things hockey and visits a different Canadian city each weekend between October 2016 and April 2017.

“I was born and raised in Hamilton and I’m very proud of the city’s deep-rooted hockey history,” says Steve Staios, former NHL defenceman and president of the Ontario Hockey League’s Hamilton Bulldogs. “As the hockey season closes out, what better way to celebrate hockey in our community and show our passion for the game than to join local celebrities, hockey legends and future stars for a fun-filled weekend of free outdoor hockey festivities.”

The festivities in Hamilton are free and will feature interactive activities, contests, live entertainment, and a chance to meet NHL alumni.

More information and a line-up of activities can be found on the City of Hamilton website.
