Suspect in custody after stabbing in Scarborough

One person is in custody following a stabbing in Scarborough overnight.

The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. near Kennedy Road and Eglinton Avenue East.

Police said a fight broke out inside a restaurant when those involved decided to take it outside.

It was at that time when police said a 46-year-old man was stabbed by a 27-year-old man.

The male was rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was caught following a foot chase.

Police said he has been charged with aggravated assault, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon and three counts of failure to comply with recognizance.
