Senior tied up and robbed in alleged Abbotsford home invasion

An senior was tied up in his home during a robbery in Abbotsford on Thursday night.

Abbotsford Police say a man in his late 70s was at home when two men armed with a metal bar allegedly broke into his home in the 34000-block of Marshall Road.

The man was bound while the suspects searched the home and took the victim’s wallet and his blue 2013 Silverado truck, police said.

After the suspects left, the man was able to free himself and call police. His vehicle was recovered shortly after.

Police say the man was treated by paramedics for minor injuries and was shaken from the incident.

The Abbotsford Major Crime Unit believes the robbery was targeted.
