Man, 45, arrested after teen shot and killed in Windsor: police

A 19-year-old man was shot and killed in Windsor, Ont. Monday and a 45-year-old male suspect who police say was known to the victim has been arrested.

Windsor police responded to a local hospital at 5:30 p.m., after the teen was brought there by friends and was suffering from a single gunshot wound.

Investigators determined the shooting had occurred inside a residence on University Avenue East in Windsor and contained the scene.

The victim died from his injuries in hospital and the investigation was then upgraded to a homicide.

At 10:45 p.m., police attended an apartment on Riverside Drive East and arrested a 45-year-old suspect without incident.

Neither the suspect or the victim have been identified and no charges have yet been laid.
