Search for stolen vehicle on Westside Road

There was a heavy police presence on Westside Road earlier today in an effort to track down a stolen vehicle.

Although short on details, police say they were dealing with a vehicle theft complaint in the Westside Road area earlier today and Vernon RCMP were called for additional support from the north. A handful of officers were witnessed at the edge of Westside Road.

RCMP say a police dog and helicopter also joined the search.

“Few details will be released at this time to protect the integrity of the fluid and ongoing police investigation,” Constable Jesse O’Donaghey said.
