Barrie police said the men, who were 19 and 51 years old, were located with “obvious signs of trauma” just before 3:30 a.m. at an address on William Street between Burton Avenue and Bayview Drive.

“At this time we’re not releasing the suspected cause of death, it is part of the investigation,” Const. Nicole Rodgers said. Forensic post-mortem examinations are scheduled for later in the week.

“The call came from within the house and at this time we’re not releasing who they were called in by,” Rodgers said.

The 24-year-old man was arrested at a Marcus Street home and brought to a police station for interviews. Charges weren’t laid as of Wednesday afternoon. Police said they are still looking for “potentially involved parties to the incident.”

Police are asking anyone who was in the area between 2:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. or who may have video surveillance of the area to come forward.

“We are actively canvassing and we are hoping that by getting this out to the citizens of Barrie, that they are able to let us know if they have video so we’re able to meet up and look at the timelines,” Rodgers said.

The public is urged to contact the Barrie Police Homicide Unit at 705-725-7025 Ext. 2160 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
