Brad Wall Canada’s most popular premier: poll

SASKATOON – A new poll released today says Saskatchewan’s Brad Wall is Canada’s most popular premier. 

The online survey by Angus Reid found 67 per cent of respondents in Saskatchewan approved of Wall’s performance. 

That matches the last two surveys carried out by the firm that gave Wall a 66 per cent approval rating in August and a 67 per cent rating in May. 

No other premier broke the 50 per cent approval rating.

Alberta’s Alison Redford place second with a 47 per cent approval followed by Manitoba’s Greg Selinger at 46 per cent. 

The lowest rating went to outgoing Ontario premier Dalton McGuinty at 23 per cent. 

The poll also rated opposition leaders.

Saskatchewan interim NDP leader John Nilson has the lowest approval rating among provincial opposition leaders at 35 per cent, with 26 per cent not having an opinion. 

Three opposition leaders top 50 per cent approval: Nova Scotia Liberal leader Stephen McNeil and British Columbia NDP leader Adrian Dix both at 53 per cent and Francois Legualt, leader of Quebec’s Coalition for the Future of Quebec. 

The poll was taken from Nov. 25 to Dec. 3 among 6,619 randomly selected adults with a margin of error of +/- 1.2 per cent 19 out of 20 times.
