The Oil Kings said the pedestrian portal off 103 Avenue and 103 Street will be closed due to the potential for severe winds.

“We have been monitoring the wind forecast for two days, and gusts are forecasted up to 100 kilometres per hour at higher elevations near Rogers Place and the ICE District construction site creating the potential for associated risks,” Rob Thomas, communications manager with the Oil Kings, said in a media release Sunday.

“The safety of our fans and guests is our number one priority.”

Hockey fans can access the arena from the following locations:

  • 104 Avenue: Through the lobby off of 104 Avenue on the southeast corner beside the Grand Villa Edmonton Casino
  • North entry: Through the Metro line LRT station along 105 Avenue through the north side, or take the corridor to the Ford Hall entrance
  • Parkade: Premium pass holders can access the arena from the parkade level where there are three entrances

The puck drops against the Kelowna Rockets at 4 p.m.
