Toronto police investigating suspicious death near Lawrence Ave. and Weston Rd.

A male victim was found dead with gunshot wounds in a stairwell of a building at around 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Police responded to a call for a medical complaint in the area of Lawrence Avenue West and Weston Road.

“Two shell casings were located at the scene. The man had gunshot wounds,” said Cst. Dave Hopkinson with the Toronto police.

The homicide unit has been notified, but police have not confirmed they are investigating the death as a homicide.

“A post-mortem is scheduled for today where cause of death with be determined,” said Hopkinson.
