CAQ leader talks economy, immigration and Anglo vote
It’s no secret Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) party leader François Legault has been busy courting the Anglo vote in Quebec this year.
His stance on identity politics and Islam have raised some concern however.
Senior anchor Jamie Orchard sat down with the party leader earlier this week to talk economy, immigration and his plans on wooing Quebec’s English minority.
‘Community social pediatrics’
The Fondation du Dr Julien is a social enterprise whose mission is to ensure that every child living in vulnerable circumstances has access to pediatrics care.
Each year, the foundation helps over 2,000 children and their families thrive regardless of the socioeconomic challenges they face.

‘The Chaperone’
It was the 1970s and Ralph Whims was a school teacher in charge of supervising a school dance in the basement of a Montreal church.
But the events that unfolded that night turned Whims into a local legend and the subject of an animated short called “The Chaperone.”
Stories of the epic battle that ensued after Whims took on a disruptive biker gang that showed up at the middle school dance, inspired Montreal-based filmmaker Fraser Munden to create the film.
It was a painstaking process that took over three years to complete.
After doing the rounds on the festival circuit, the award-winning animated documentary is now available for free on Vimeo.
Film director Frasher Munden, school dance DJ Stefan Czernatowicz and the chaperone himself, Ralph Whims, dropped by Focus Montreal to talk about the film and the events that inspired it.
