RCMP investigating targeted shooting in Surrey

RCMP officers are investigating a targeted shooting that happened in a residential area of Surrey Wednesday afternoon.

Surrey RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the 7300-block of 125th Street at about 4:15 p.m. The officers initial investigation showed the possible victim was in his vehicle in the driveway of the Newton area home when the shots were fired.

According to police, the victim fled the scene and they believe he was not injured in the incident.

Witnesses saw the suspect vehicle leaving the scene immediately after the shots were fired and was last seen driving south on 125th Street, heading toward 72nd Ave. The vehicle is described as an older model, silver-coloured SUV.

The suspect is described as male, about 5’7″ tall with short dark hair and a slim face. He was wearing a black jacket and dark pants.

Although the investigation is in the early stages, police believe the shooting was targeted and continue to speak with witnesses.

Police ask anyone with information about the incident to contact the Surrey RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
