A secret Santa in Everett, Pennsylvania, has given more than $46,000 in gifts to some unsuspecting shoppers this week.

Walmart said a woman walked into the store with a cheque from someone only known as ‘Santa B’ and paid all 194 layaway accounts at the store.

“When customers quietly pay off others’ layaway items, we’re reminded how good people can be,” Walmart officials said in a press release, according to WJAC-TV.

“We’re honored to be a small part of these random acts of kindness.”

CNN reports that Santa B contacted the store earlier in the week and arranged the whole thing.

“It was definitely a great gesture. I was completely shocked,” store manager Ryan Kennedy said.

Though he doesn’t know who Santa B is, Kennedy said he would like to know his motivations.

“I would just be curious as to what made them choose us, and let them know how grateful we are for the gesture, and how much it meant to the customers that we have been able to serve,” he said.

One of the grateful recipients told the story on Facebook saying, “heard of this happening in larger areas but nothing exciting happens in our small town, this time it did.”

“To who ever is the Mrs. B Clause Thank You, for helping out the folks in my town,” Lewis Nancy Smith wrote.
