The weather appears to be wreaking havoc with some of the city’s parking ticket kiosks.
“Between eight and 10 loonies,” is what Susan Woodman said she put into a machine on 12 Avenue at 8 Street S.W. Thursday.
But she said the transaction wouldn’t go through.
“So that’s…very frustrating and I realized that I probably got a ticket because as I was leaving one hour later, the enforcer vehicle drove by.”

The Calgary Parking Authority explained some machines may experience issues “due to the extremely low temperatures this week.”
“If this occurs, we encourage our customers to contact us as soon as possible at the phone number provided on the machine so that we can best assist them,” the CPA said in an email to Global News.
“If a ticket is received, a customer can file an administrative review to appeal the ticket. Customers can also apply for a refund of any money inserted into a pay machine that did not register by emailing parkplusadmin@calgaryparking.com.”

An ATM on the CTrain platform at City Hall Station was also out of commission Friday, but Calgary Transit said it hasn’t received any complaints about its ticket machines being impacted.
It’s understandable, given the temperatures on Friday morning were the lowest in Calgary in over 1,000 days.

Canada Olympic Park remains closed until Saturday due to extreme wind chill.
Zoolights is back on, but has moved most activities indoors after being closed earlier in the week.
