UPDATE: Yorkton, Sask. RCMP recover firearm used to shoot windshield and charge youth

A hole was discovered in a windshield after reports of shots fired in Yorkton, Sask. Monday night.

According to RCMP, police were called to 1st Avenue at around 10:30 p.m. CT after residents at the north end of the street near York Road heard a loud bang.

Police then found a hole in the windshield of a vehicle parked on 1st Avenue North.

RCMP say the hole was caused by a bullet.

A small, red SUV was seen in the area at the same time the gunshot was heard, police said.

Anyone with information about this vehicle or the shooting are asked to call Yorkton Municipal RCMP at 306-786-2400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
