24-year-old man charged after armed robbery in north Regina

A 24-year-old man is facing weapons and robbery charges after an armed robbery early Sunday morning.

At around 2:28 a.m. CT on Dec. 4, police were called to a business in the 400 block of Albert Street North for a report of an armed robbery.

According to police, a man entered the business with a gun then demanded cash and merchandise from an employee. No one was physically harmed in the robbery.

After searching the area, police found a man matching the suspect description. Officers then went after the suspect on foot after he refused to stop.

Police said at one point the suspect appeared to pull a gun.

Officers took the suspect into custody a short time later.

After investigating, officers discovered the suspect had a realistic-looking CO2 pistol.

Shawn Royal Parisian, 24, was charged with armed robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and use of a firearm in the commission of an indictable offence.

He was also charged in an unrelated theft of a motor vehicle.

Parisian appeared in provincial court Monday morning.
