Tower Hill, N.B. man charged after RCMP seize drugs, weapons

A 47-year-old man from Tower Hill, N.B. is facing numerous charges including drug and weapon possession following an arrest by RCMP.

St. Stephen RCMP officers entered a residence under a search warrant Friday on Route 755. They seized several substances suspected to be cocaine, marijuana and various pills, believed to be Ritalin, morphine, hydromorphone and Ativan. A firearm, brass knuckles and a butterfly knife were also found.

Police arrested one man who was held in custody and appeared in court in Saint John Monday in connection with the seizure.

Joseph Darrin Burns has been charged with four counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possessing a prohibited weapon without authorization, unsafe storage of a firearm, breach of conditions and resisting arrest. He was remanded and will return to court Tuesday.

Police are continuing their investigation.
