It’s been 12 days since Bryan Balong went missing, and still there has been no sign of the 33-year-old.
On Saturday, friends, family, and strangers came together in the Garden City area to try and find Balong.
The search was organized Balong’s younger brother, Brad, who said he is willing to do anything to bring him home.
“That’s my Christmas gift. I want to be able to say ‘hey, we found him’,” said Brad Balong.
The search party met up at Margaret Park School, near where Bryan lived. From there, they were split into groups and given different areas to search. Everywhere from the Red River to Vince Leah Park to Inkster Boulevard was covered.

The entire search was organized by family and former Manitoba RCMP officer Mark LeMaistre, who is part of Balong’s extended family.
“All in all, we really don’t know where he went. But we focused the search today on the point last seen, southeast of his residence where his footprints are seen. So that’s the areas they’re doing, the back lanes and front streets,” said LeMaistre.
Searchers said they are willing to look anywhere during the day-long search, and ask anyone with any sort of information to contact the family, or reach out online by using the hashtag #ComeHomeB.
Brad Balong said, he just wants to see his brother again.
“We’re twelve days in, and I think that I’ve renewed that initial feeling that we’re going to find him, alive.”
