Darian Moise’s family will have to wait until later this month to find out the sentence of the man who killed the 16 year-old last September.
Twenty-one year-old Lawrence Alvin Strongquill pled guilty, and was supposed to be sentenced on Friday. The matter has been adjourned until Dec. 12.
Moise’s body was found in a home on the 1200 block on Robinson Street on September 13, 2015. Strongquill was originally charged with second-degree murder.

Barbara Still is Moise’s aunt and she helps organize an annual memorial walk for her nephew, Darian’s Walk for Peace.
“Darian was gone to early. He was just a bright, young kid. We’ll never be able to see him graduate, or have kids, or anything. His life was just cut short,” she said.
“It hurts to be here today.”
Strongquill apologized in court today, and the gesture meant a lot to Erica Allary.
“For him to plead guilty, that means a lot to our family that he’ll stand up and take responsibility.”
The family plans to hold a third walk for Darian near what would have been his 19th birthday, Sept. 17, 2017.
