Shooting in west-end Toronto leaves 1 in hospital

A male was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a shooting in west-end Toronto Friday morning.

Toronto police said they responded to reports of shots fired just before 11 a.m. near Weston Road and Bellevue Crescent.

Once on scene, officers located a male in front of a restaurant with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

The age and identity of the shooting victim has not been released.

Police said two suspects fled the scene. The first is described by police as a black male, in his 30s, approximately six-feet tall, wearing a long silver coat and a hoodie.

The second suspect is described as a lighter skinned black male, five-feet five inches tall, wearing a three-quarter length dark coloured jacket.

Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to contact police.
