WINNIPEG — A main building at an iconic Winnipeg intersection is going up for sale.
The Scotiabank building, on Portage Avenue and Main Street, is selling its location on the southwest corner of the intersection.
The bank will keep the branch open, leasing space from the new owner.
“We have made the decision to sell the building we own at Portage and Main,” said Heather Armstrong with Scotiabank.
“We plan to lease the space from the new owner of the building to keep our main Winnipeg branch at this prominent intersection. We look forward to renovating that branch to provide our customers with the most up to date tools and services.”
No word yet on the cost of the building.
