Charges laid in numerous north Okanagan crimes

VERNON – The Mounties hope the arrests of two people will put an end to a three month crime spree in the north Okanagan.

The arrests followed the recovery of a stolen pickup truck that was used in the attempted theft of a automated teller machine at a Vernon grocery store in October.

Police say a search of the vehicle and the two suspects turned up numerous items stolen from vehicles and homes in the Vernon area.

Jason Biluk, 35, is charged with nine counts of possessing stolen property and three counts of break-and-enter.

Thirty-nine year old Rae Ann Bennett is facing four charges of possessing stolen property.
