Pedestrian killed in hit and run northeast of Edmonton

St. Paul RCMP are asking for the public’s help locating the driver of a vehicle they believe was involved in a fatal hit and run on the Saddle Lake First Nation Saturday evening.

Mounties were called to the First Nation, about 170 kilometres northeast of Edmonton, at around 5 p.m.

A witness told police a man was lying on the road when he was struck by a white Ford F-150 truck. The 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said his name will not be released.

The witness also told police the truck collided with another vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The white truck believed to be involved in the collision was later found in Saddle Lake but RCMP continue to search for the driver.
