Police investigate double homicide in Ottawa, man in custody in Montreal

Police in Montreal said they have arrested a possible suspect after two bodies were found at a home in Ottawa on Monday night.

They said a 22-year-old man in Montreal called 911 and allegedly confessed to killing his parents a few days earlier.

Montreal police said they contacted Ottawa police when alerted to the situation.

Ottawa police said information received from the Montreal force around 9:30 p.m. on Monday prompted officers to check on the residents of a home in the city.

Police said the officers found the bodies of 69-year-old Dave Rogers and 63-year-old Merrill Rogers.

They said the 22-year-old man who is in custody in Montreal will be brought to Ottawa Tuesday.
