What a difference a weekend makes as Toronto residents are now settling into winter-like weather.
Environment Canada reported the daytime high in the city was just 1 C – a far cry from Friday when it was a much warmer 16 C.

The low temperatures and snow had Torontonians sprinkling salt on sidewalks and reluctantly bundling up to go outside.

Global News spoke with Jackie on Friday afternoon while she was outside enjoying the unseasonably warm weather. We checked with her again Monday to see how she was handling the temperature change.

“On Friday I was standing in a t-shirt and putting up my Christmas lights with the sun shining, the kids were outside playing,” said Jackie.
“Now I am freezing.”
Global News Chief Meteorologist Anthony Farnell said residents should get used to the colder weather as it’s not going anywhere soon.

“Today’s accumulating snow will not be the last of the week. Another storm will bring more wet snow Wednesday night and again with another system on Friday,” said Farnell.
“My winter forecast issued at the beginning of the month emphasized how this would be nothing like last year and that winter was coming early.”
