Saskatoon police believe City Park home invasion not random

Police say three people are facing charges in relation to a home invasion that took place in Saskatoon’s City Park neighbourhood. File / Global News

Three people are facing charges after an alleged home invasion that Saskatoon police responded to on Sunday in the City Park neighbourhood.

At around 5 a.m. CT, a man reported that he was approached by four people in the alley behind his residence in the 900-block of 7th Avenue North.

Police said one person brandished a firearm and two produced knives.

The victim was forced to his home where he said he was robbed of money and property. No injuries were reported.

Police said due to their quick response, a vehicle leaving the area was stopped and resulted in three arrests.

Two men, ages 21 and 24, along with a 28-year-old woman are facing robbery and several firearms-related charges. They are expected to appear before a justice of the peace on Sunday.

Investigators do not believe the home invasion was a random event.
