As the news broke about the death of Leonard Cohen, friends, colleagues and fans took to social media to mourn the passing of the great Canadian legend.
Cohen’s label, Sony Music Canada, announced the death of the 82-year-old on Facebook Thursday evening. There were no specifics given on how the singer died.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau paid tribute to him on Twitter Thursday night saying, “No other artist’s music felt or sounded like Leonard Cohen’s. Yet his work resonated across generations.”
Born in Montreal, Cohen’s music transcended borders and people of all walks of life from around the world are celebrating him.
