Those who stayed up late enough on to watch Donald Trump‘s election night victory speech could likely relate to his youngest son, Barron Trump.
The 10-year-old, who is Trump’s only child with third wife Melania, was clearly up way past his bed time.
We hadn’t seen much of him during the campaign because he was kept at home with his mom. She said she wanted to shelter her “little Donald” (as she apparently calls him due to his “independent and opinionated” personality), from the public eye.
Well that went out the window around 3 a.m. Wednesday, when he was placed right next to his father and within the camera’s frame while his dad made his historic first speech as president-elect.
The unfortunate placement meant poor Barron didn’t stand a chance of hiding his tiredness.
It looked like he could barely keep his eyes open. At one point, he even let out an accidental eye roll before seemingly giving up and squeezing his eyes shut.
As he rocked back and forth on his feet and fidgeted, his facial expressions quickly turned him into a viral star.
Many on Twitter said his perplexed expression captured their own sentiment about the unexpected election results.
