GRAND FORKS, ND — As Canadians anxiously wait to see how American’s political landscape could soon shift, our neighbours down south are busy casting their ballots.
In Grand Forks, North Dakota, some voters waited in line for more than an hour to cast their ballots for the U.S. presidential election Tuesday morning.
The polls opened at 7 a.m., and soon enough hundreds of people were lining up at the Alerus Centre, which is located on the outskirts of the city.
Voting officials said the line was unusually long for an election in Grand Forks.

North Dakotans are making several choices on this ballot, such as voting on local political races and public policy measures – adding to the long voting lines.
Some voters leaving the polls speculated the long lines could also be due to the intensity of this presidential election campaign.
