RCMP have located a missing 75-year-old Alberta man who left for Saskatchewan last week.
On Nov. 4, Walter Ansell left his home in Carbon, Alta., to visit family in the rural municipality (RM) of Heart’s Hill in Saskatchewan. He was driving a Hyundai Veloster and had his Chihuahua-Pomeranian mix dog, Cheeco, with him.
Kindersley RCMP had said Ansell was looking for directions on Nov. 4 and was seen by a neighbour travelling in the wrong direction.

Family and police also were concerned for Ansell’s well-being due to a medical condition he suffers from and it was unknown if he had his medication with him.
On Nov. 6, a tip was received and Oyen RCMP confirmed Ansell’s car and dog were northeast of Esther, Alta., on Range Road 320.
Police dog services and air rescue searched the area about 30 kilometres west of the Alberta/Saskatchewan border. The elderly man was found during the course of the search efforts on Monday afternoon.
Ansell was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
RCMP said there is no indication of foul play but the circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
