As if trick-or-treating on Halloween night in Saint-Lazare isn’t dark and spooky enough, one resident is making it spookier.
Every year, for more than a decade, Alan Gregoire’s home transforms into a haunted destination.
Gregoire believes this will be his biggest year yet, with some 2,000-3,000 visitors.
Gregoire won’t say how much he’s spent on his elaborate installations, just that he started out small and was initially motivated by simple fun.

“I just hope one day a kid sees this and thinks, ‘wow! I’m going to do that,'” he said.
While originally, Gregoire started putting on his Halloween show just for fun, it turned into more than that last year.
The Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence approached him to ask if he would consider putting out a jar to collect funds.
He agreed.
Gregoire told Global News he raised about $1,500, but this year he’s bound to bring in more.
Gas Metro Plus will match donations of up to $2,000.
Gregoire adds new decorations to his haunted house every year and doesn’t waste any time doing it.
“I start to shop the next day, after Halloween, trying to find some new thing,” he said.
