It’s got all the makings of a good haunting: ghosts, ghouls and a few dead relatives in a cemetery out back.
Vaudreuil-Dorion’s A Horse Tale rescue farm has organized a haunted barn to raise some much-needed funds.
“Some of them have health issues when they get here. We take them because no one else wants them.”
The farm’s fundraiser is on Saturday, Oct. 29 and features a maze, horse rides and a bonfire – all the while raising money to keep the barn open.

A Horse Tale has accepted three new horses this year, so organizers say things are getting more expensive.
“All funds that do come in go towards keeping our business running,” said Mike Grenier, the organization’s vice-president.
“When you have 11 horses, it’s expensive.”
Event-goers are encouraged to dress up – but they won’t be the only ones.
It’s possible a horse might take the prize for cutest outfit.
“They’re used to it,” joked Handy, standing next to former calèche horse, Ulysses, who was sporting a blue wig.
“Keeping the costumes on always depends on the horse.”
