Châteauguay police carried out a major drug raid, called operation Kojak, in the Montérégie regions of Kahnawake, Mercier, Sainte-Isiodore, Sainte-Martine, and Hudson on Oct. 27.
Approximately 80 police officers from the Sûreté du Québec, Kahnawake peacekeepers, Longueil and Roussillon police participated in the raids coordinated by Châteauguay police.
Police forces arrested seven men and three women, and targeted eight residences: four in Châteauguay, one in Sainte-Isidore, two in Sainte-Martine and one in Hudson.
The investigation leading up to operation Kojak began in February.
In a press release, Châteauguay police said the raids targeted a regional organized crime gang.
Châteauguay police said they seized $22 000 in cash, 20 kg in cannabis, 450 marijuana plants, 64.5 grams of cocaine, and eight hunting rifles which were not properly stored.
The suspects will appear at the Valleyfield courthouse on Oct 28.
