A late addition to the Okanagan Sun is looking toward greener pastures: football leagues that pay big bucks.
Rashaun Simonise has signed on with one of the biggest football agents in the U.S. and Global News has also learned why his time in the NFL this summer was cut short.
Simonise has been bidding his time with the Canadian Junior Football league after failing to sign a contract following training camp this summer with the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals.
Prostar Sports Agency announced Wednesday they’ve signed Simonise on as a new client of agent Paul Sheehy.
In making the announcement, the agency also revealed details about Simonise’s time in training camp with the Bengals, including a steroid suspension for the first four games of the NFL season.
The suspension was apparently for taking an over-the-counter training supplement.
He was cleared by commissioner Roger Goodell on Oct. 11th and once again made eligible to be signed on by an NFL team.
Simonise was not at the practice Wednesday evening with the Okanagan Sun; the team said he has the flu.
