Woman arrested after stabbing on Kawacatoose First Nation

RCMP have arrested a 20-year-old Saskatchewan woman who was wanted in connection with a stabbing on Kawacatoose First Nation.

At around 11:15 a.m. CT on Sunday, police located Kayla Blueeyes, 20, at a residence on the reserve and took her into custody.

Blueeyes is expected to appear in Punnichy court on Tuesday morning. She is facing charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Emergency services were called on Friday night to a report that a woman had been stabbed at a residence on the reserve.

A 30-year-old woman was found and airlifted to Saskatoon’s Royal University Hospital by STARS air ambulance. Her injuries were last reported to be serious.

Kawacatoose First Nation is approximately 185 kilometres southeast of Saskatoon.
