Man reported with knife in 2nd Saskatoon home arrested following stabbing

Saskatoon police say a man reportedly threatening people with a knife at a home was arrested after a stabbing a second residence on Friday.

At around 7:55 p.m. CT, police first received a call about a stabbing in the 1800-block of 20th Street West.

Officers arrived to find a man who had been stabbed several times. He was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Around five minutes later, police received another call from a home reporting that a man had broken into the residence and was threatening people inside with a knife.

Police attended the 400-block of Avenue U South and arrested the 24-year-old man.

Through their investigation, it was determined that the same man was responsible for both stabbings.

He is facing charges of aggravated assault, break and enter, assault with a weapon and several counts of breaching a court order.
