WINNIPEG — If you’re interested in sitting down and having a beer with the Queen, you are in luck.
Queen Elizabeth II – or a 35-square-metre painting of her – is hanging outside The Pint in downtown Winnipeg. But it’s only going to be there for a few hours.
On Thursday afternoon, the 600 lbs. portrait was unveiled at 274 Garry St., outside the pub’s building. The iconic portrait will be displayed for the next 12 hours in honour of the Heritage Classic.
This is the first time the picture of Her Majesty has been on display since it was taken down from the Winnipeg Arena more than a decade ago.
