KELOWNA, B.C. – The WHL Kelowna Rockets ended a three game losing streak Wednesday night with a 4-3 OT win against the US division leading Everett Silvertips.
Lucas Johansen sealed the win just a minute into overtime.
Overtime came courtesy of a last minute empty netter by Everett’s Riley Sutter, a 6’3″, 200 lb Calgary native who has scored six goals this season.
Nolan Foote scored his first WHL career goal and was rewarded with a pie to the face during the post game interviews outside the locker rooms at Prospera Place.
Rodney Southam and Devante Stephens rounding out Kelowna’s four goals.
Rockets netminder Michael Herringer collecting his fourth win of the season as the team improved to 4-7-0-0 on the season.
The Tri-City Americans travel to Kelowna Friday night to help the Rockets close out a four game home-stand.
