Vancouver Police would like the public to be on the lookout for a collection of rare comic books that were stolen from a home in East Vancouver on Oct. 17.
One of the comics is Fantastic Four: Issue No 1, which can sell for about $5,000 depending on the condition. It is a rare comic book and police say it should raise suspicion if offered for sale.
The comic was with a stack of others, kept in a 100-pound safe, which was stolen around noon from the home.
“Someone knows the location of these valuable comics,” said VPD Const. Jason Doucette in a release. “We just hope they do the right thing and share that information with our Property Crime Unit or Crime Stoppers.”
Anyone who has any information about the break-in or the whereabouts of the comics is asked to contact the VPD Property Crime Unit at 604-717-3328, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
