Two teenagers are facing charges after a stolen SUV was stopped by Saskatoon police on Sunday.

At around 5:25 a.m. CT, officers located the vehicle in the area of Avenue L and 20th Street and attempted to stop it.

Police said the driver of the SUV refused to stop. A short time later, officers were able to bring the stolen vehicle to a halt in the 200-block of Avenue O South and the two girls were taken into custody.

No injuries were reported.

Both teens, ages 16 and 17, are facing a charge of possession of stolen property over $5,000. The driver is also facing charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and evading police.

The accused are expected to be seen by a justice of the peace on Sunday.
