The Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) launched its 10th homicide investigation of the year on Friday.

At around 10:55 p.m. CT, officers along with MD Ambulance personnel responded to a call about an injured man in a home in the 1400-block Avenue G North.

SPS said when officers arrived they found a 26-year-old man who had been the victim of an apparent assault.

The man died from his injuries at the scene. His name has not been released.

The major crime unit and forensic identification section are investigating along with the chief coroner’s office.
