“It makes me feel a little uneasy but I’m not scared to live in the neighborhood,” Loretta Witsey, a neighbor of the house fire on Sunday said.

An RV was also lit up in flames on Saturday when a man unknowingly hit a propane line on the vehicle.

Vernon crews say suspicious fires are nothing new.

“We’ve definitely had our share of it,” Vernon Fire Chief Laurie Skolrood said.

“It’s frustrating from the fire department’s side of things; it takes our crews off the street.”

Vernon RCMP arrested a man this summer for a string of arson attacks stretching back to 2014.
