Pan Am Pool reopening after months of renovations

WINNIPEG — After being closed for months for renovations,  the Pan Am Pool is reopening Saturday.

The pool, located off of Grant Avenue, was closed for months as the city worked on renovations to get it ready for the 2017 Canada Summer Games.

The city spent nearly $10 million putting a new bulkhead in the pool, fixing up the diving tower, improving the locker rooms and doing work on the parking lot.

“Pan Am Pool is the known competitive pool for aquatic sports in Manitoba and these upgrades will help us deliver on our promise of an exceptional athlete experience for our swimmers and divers at Games time,” said Jeff Hnatiuk, president and CEO, 2017 Canada Summer Games Host Society.

The Canada Summer Games kick off in Winnipeg July 28  and run until Aug. 13.
