What’s your favourite Montreal restaurant?

Rib’N Reef. The service is exceptional and it’s fine dining. The ambiance and the quality…those are the things you want.

As an actor, who inspires you?

Denzel Washington. He’s definitely someone I look up to in the business as a level of excellence that’s not achieved by many.

What’s your favourite movie?

Memento. The script was intelligent. For me, a great movie is one that stands the test of time. Is it still relevant today?

Because of the script and the performances, it’s my favourite movie. I saw it a month ago and it’s still my favourite.

What’s your favourite pastime?

Something I’ve taken up recently is I’ve started coaching actors. It’s definitely something I’ve enjoyed.

Passing the torch I think that… It’s a very tough business and there are very few people who have been successful at it and communicate to the younger generation.

Since I’m still in the field, my teaching is relevant and the next generation can make use of what I’m saying.

What sports do you like to watch?

Tennis and boxing. They’re one-on-one sports – you have very little, to no coaching at all.

You have to make your own adjustments on the fly and you have to respond to the adversity without being coached.

What’s something the average person wouldn’t know about you?

I skipped Grade 4. I moved from Toronto to California, then came to Montreal.

By the time I came back, I was like ‘why am I doing the same things as I was doing before?’ I lobbied to move up to Grade 5.

I left all my friends behind – literally and physically because that’s when I grew to 6’4.
