2 people facing charges after allegedly fleeing Ontario police in stolen car

KENORA, Ont. – A northwestern Ontario woman and a Manitoba man are facing multiple charges following a series of incidents in the Kenora, Ont., area.

Ontario Provincial Police say a vehicle fled on Monday morning as officers tried to make a traffic stop on Highway 71 south of Kenora.

When police located the vehicle they say a male suspect had left and a woman and two small children were still in the car, which they determined had been stolen.

It’s alleged the man stole a pickup truck and fled the scene, leaving the woman and children behind, then stole another vehicle in Kenora before being arrested by RCMP in Lac Du Bonnet, Man., on Monday evening.

A 29-year-old Kenora woman is to appear in court on Nov. 17 facing two charges of possession of property obtained by crime.

A 21-year-old man is being held in Manitoba on charges that include possession of property obtained by crime, dangerous driving, motor vehicle theft, and obstructing a peace officer.
