WINNIPEG – Not even a power outage could keep fans away from their Jets.
Players were supposed to begin on-ice sessions at 8 a.m. but the outage caused the start time to be pushed back to 11 a.m.
Fans were encouraged to start lining up at 7 a.m. since seating for the practice sessions was available on a first come, first served basis.
However, even with the wet weather, some fans said nothing could hold them back from supporting their team.
The event was packaged with booths around every corner. Bouncy castles for the kids, coffee stops for mom and dad, sprinkled with a little some prizes and hockey practice nets for everyone.
Some waited for over an hour in the line-up for free pancakes but said they wouldn’t want to be anywhere else on Fan Fest day.
When asked what fans are looking forward to the most for the upcoming season, it was unanimous: new draft pick Patrick Laine definitely has the attention of fans.
