Sask. farmers set world record harvest

On Saturday, more than 200 farmers in Saskatchewan broke a world record for the most combines in the same field harvesting at the same time.

The event, organized by Harvest for Kids, took place at a field north of Saskatoon.

They say Ireland previously held the record with 208 combines, which beat an old record of 200 that was set in Winkler, Manitoba in 2010.

Organizers say there were 249 combines lined up side-by-side yesterday afternoon.

Proceeds collected at Harvest for Kids went to Children’s Camp International, an organization helping children in developing countries to go camp.
