Emmys 2016 red carpet: A full recap of the night’s best and worst fashion

The Emmy Awards is Hollywood’s biggest night for primetime television – and it gives viewers a chance to see their favourite small-screen stars glammed up on the red carpet.

Because, while we PVR their shows regularly and binge-watch their programs on streaming services, it’s rare for us to see celebs like those from the cast of Game of Thrones or Downton Abbey out of character. (There’s a real difference between seeing them in 20th Century garb vs. haute couture!)

Luckily for us, this year’s cast of nominees did not disappoint… at least sartorially.

For the 68th annual event, several donned many of fall’s biggest trends (like prints, bold hues and fabrics with rich textures), while others wore attire that was a bit “out there,” but no less stylish.
