Woman, toddler, victims of northern Saskatchewan house trailer fire

RCMP have ruled out any criminal activity in the deaths of two people whose bodies were found in a burned house trailer in northern Saskatchewan.

The people have been identified as a 36-year-old woman and a 23-month-old girl, both from Montreal Lake Cree Nation, but their names have not been released.

Autopsies were done earlier this week in Saskatoon and police will only say that the woman and child were known to each other.

Police have said the trailer was engulfed in flames when they arrived at the scene on the First Nation early last Friday morning.

A man was treated at hospital and released, but the bodies were not found until emergency crews started sifting through the charred wreckage.

The First Nation is about 265 kilometres north of Saskatoon.
